Can osteopathy help me?

If you are experiencing any type of physical pain, acute or chroinc, osteopathy can help. Our first port of call is to establish if the pain is musculoskeletal i.e. coming from joints, muscles or ligaments. Once we have diagnosed the problem and explained to you, we can to work on fixing it. If we suspect your pain isn’t a musculoskeletal issue we will make sure you get referred you to the appropriate healthcare professional.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your initial consultation can take up to 60 minutes, the osteopath will ask you a series of questions about your symptoms and your medical history. They will carry out a detailed assesment of your posture and appropriate examination and diagnostic tests. Following this the osteopath will explain the suspected diagnosis before carrying out treatment and discussing a management plan.

What should I wear to my appointment?

It is useful for the osteopath to be able to see the area concerned so they may ask you to remove some of your clothing or underdress to your underwear. It is of utmost importance to us that you feel comfortable so if you prefer please bring along shorts and a vest.

How many sessions will I need?

Our osteopaths will be able to give you a better idea following your initial consultation. Every patient is treated as an individual and sessions are tailored to their needs. One promise we do make at OsteoBath is if you do not respond to our treatment, we will re-assess and liase with other healthcare professionals if deemed appropriate.

Can I bring a friend or relative along?
